Fridays are just the best! Am I right or am I right?? This Friday is extra special because it's my last day at work for two weeks! My brain is totally already on vacay mode - can you blame me? C and I leave tomorrow for a big vacation and I could not be more excited (and slightly anxious that I forgot to pack something important). Be sure to follow along on Insta-stories to see where we're headed and what all we have in store! I'll give you a hint: we are spending Saturday night and all day Sunday in NYC for a long layover before we board a very long flight.....eeeek!!

Whether its vacation or not, my favorite part about Friday is that its a good excuse to get all prettied up and go out for a date night dinner! Spending a little more time on hair and makeup and picking the perfect outfit always makes date night feel that much more special and important. And I love it! One on one time with your special someone (i.e. not sitting next to each other on the couch with cell phones in your face) is such an important part of a relationship and something I always enjoy.

I was lucky enough to have my college friend Charis offer to do my makeup before C and I headed out for a dinner date last weekend. Having someone else do your makeup is always so fun! I tend to do my eyes the same way every.single.day. I always lean towards the less-is-more side of things (mostly because I have no talent when it comes to applying eye makeup), so it was nice to branch out with a little more depth and intensity while sticking to the neutral color palette I typically prefer. I felt so glam and it really added that "something special" to my date night look.

Mary-Kay's fall line has the most beautiful colors! I especially loved the eye-shadow palette in "rose nudes" and the matte lip suede lipstick in "rose blush." It is seriously the perfect mauvey-pink to match any outfit - and also one of the season's hottest colors! It went on smooth and wore evenly, which is a huge requirement in my book. What do you think of my finished look? I loved how my eyes popped next to the pinks and smokey greys. Plus, the lipstick and eyeshadow Charis used matched my top perfectly!

Sidenote on the top, I'm always a fan of something flirty and flowy for date night because ya girl eats a LOT during cheat meals and I gotta hide my food babies! Anyone else?! As I mentioned above, dusty rose is one of the season's hottest colors, so I know I'll be wearing this top on repeat. It is the perfect mix of dressy and casual and is only $13! C said I looked like I stepped out of the medieval time period.....I'm gonna pretend that meant I looked like a princess!
