Friday Favorites
Friday, April 21, 2017
Happy Friday, ya'll! I was swamped this week with work events plus my iPhone crashed on Tuesday....is it just me or is dealing with phone issues the most mentally draining experience?! Luckily I was able to get a brand new phone free of charge and most everything from the old one was recovered. Phew!
#KyloTheMountainDog had a "ruffer" week than I did, though. He was neutered on Monday and has been having a tough time functioning with a cone on his head [read as: he bumps into everything including my legs]. We even had to overnight a Kong inflatable cone from Amazon....I told him it was designer. Needless to say, we are both ready for the weekend! He has a Berner Meet-Up to go to in Edmond tomorrow......hopefully no dogs make fun of the cone of shame, ha!
What is on your weekend agenda? Besides the Berner Meet-Up, we are planning on eating super healthy and spending some quality time in the sun. Trying to get that beach babe body back ASAP, ya feel me?! We also might stop by one of the newest additions to Midtown, Commonplace Books; rumor has it they have a shop dog named Boz! Any book recommendations for me? I'd love to hear your suggestions.
Thanks for stopping by!

Sipping Rosé on the Packard's Rooftop - you MUST try their blueberry muffins, I've been craving them every day since!
Sunday breakfast, courtesy of your's truly
The two cutest Easter bunnies you've ever seen
Brunching at the Karsten Creek Clubhouse in Stilly for Easter with both sides of our family
Spending $5 on the Unicorn Drink all in the name of Instagram (I poured most of it down the drain)

Friday Favorites
Friday, April 7, 2017
I've noticed a lot of bloggers do a "Friday Five" or "Friday Favorites" post every week. It's something I always enjoy reading because it gives a glimpse into their lives outside of food, travel and fashion! Clearly, Friday is a day worth celebrating, so I'm going to start implementing a Friday Favorites post into Amanda's OK, as well.
This week.........
What do ya'll have going on this weekend? C is in Texas on a dude's trip, so I'll be spending my Friday night on the couch having a Gossip Girl marathon with the pups (and probably wine). Tomorrow, Ash and I will be brunching on the rooftop at Packard's complete with mimosas and all the VitaminD! I've been looking forward to it (and planning my outfit) for weeks. Now the only question is.....sweet or savory food?! I can never decide.
Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

This week.........
This [always dirty] door mat that I got at the cutest dog boutique in Bentonville, Arkansas
Kylo's Weekly Weigh-In - one of the only things in the world that he doesn't enjoy!
Our attempt at growing fresh herbs. One is already dying.....
Taking an afternoon off work to play hookie!
Sitting front row at a fashion show - I felt so VIP!

#WhiteHouseOnThePrairie: Before & After
Monday, April 3, 2017
I am so excited to show you all the before and after photos of our White House on the Prairie! We purchased it in October, got right to work, finished renovations at the the end of February and moved in at the beginning of March. We finally feel settled and only have a little more work to do here and there (painting a piece of furniture, staining the mantle and hanging/decorating a few things). It was a slightly stressful and long process but we couldn't be happier with how it turned out! If anyone wants to hire me as an interior designer............I'm available! ;)
The yard......well.....how does one get on the show Yard Crashers?! Ha! But seriously. We have big plans and dreams (and we made a ton of progress clearing out some of the over grown areas) but we have a LONG way to go! We are in the process of converting the Koi Pond to a fire pit and adding a patio floor on the side of the house. We also want to start utilizing the garden area but we have to block it off from the dogs first......they think it's their own personal digging pit. Eye roll.
Ok, ok. Enough chit-chat. Here are the before and afters!

AFTER: Kitchen - We tore out the nasty tile and added wood floors, stained to match the original wood floors in the rest of the house. |
AFTER: Kitchen - This is where the fridge used to be. We put in cabinets and created a coffee bar! |
AFTER: Kitchen - The glass door (original to the home) leads to the 1/2 bath and basement! |

BEFORE: Landing |
AFTER: Landing - Due to combining two bedrooms to make a master suite, we closed off a door and removed the built-in cabinets. |

BEFORE: Master Bedroom....the trim paint was rusty orange. I mean, really? |
AFTER: Master Bedroom - Paint does wonders! We also removed the wall separating the bedroom and closet to expand the space. We added a door to enter the master closet and bathroom. |

AFTER: Master Bedroom - If you notice, we put the door at an angle to give it a little bit more character! |

BEFORE: Master Bath |
AFTER: Master Bath - This was the most extensive part of our renovation since it had to be built from the ground up! |
AFTER: Master Bath - We exposed the brick, put in tile and bead board trim, added a shower, toilet and two sinks! |
AFTER: Master Bath - We fell in love with the tile in our bathroom in NYC last fall so we came home and bought it for our own shower floor! They are "penny rounds" and they feel so good on your feet! |

BEFORE: Backyard |
AFTER: Backyard - OK, this is still a major work in progress, don't judge. |
BEFORE: Backyard |
AFTER: Backyard - I plan on filling in the rocky area and adding bistro lights so we can dine on the back porch! |
Whew!!! I think that was the most pictures I have ever put in a blog post. If you stuck around till the end, I applaud you! Again, we couldn't be happier with how the #WhiteHouseOnThePrairie turned out. I love coming home every day and am still in shock that I live in a perfect house in a perfect neighborhood - hashtag blessed. I don't think I want to move again for a loooooooonnnnnggggg time, but I definitely wouldn't be opposed to renovating another house in the future. It was such a rewarding process and a fun project for Cole and I to tackle together as a team.
Thank you so much for reading and for for being a part of the renovation process from start to finish!
