14 Reasons I Love My Husband

14 reasons I love my husband

Happiest of Valentine's to you! We aren't huge celebrators of Valentine's Day around here, but I always love an excuse to eat a little extra candy, wear pink and spend some quality time together. February 13 is C's birthday, so we typically celebrate that first and foremost. Our Valentine's Day tradition has become a simple one: Chinese takeout on the couch by candlelight. Romantic, huh? It is something we both really look forward to each year! Sesame chicken is good for the heart and soul.

Since yesterday was C's birthday and today is the day of love, I thought I'd share 14 reasons I love him (and keep on loving him). I don't give him enough credit or attribution around here most of the time! Without his help and support, this blog wouldn't even be in existence and I would be living off Kraft mac and cheese and sloppy joes...coincidentally, I made him sloppy joes for his birthday dinner because its all I can make, HA! He is seriously the best (plus he's super attractive). I'm truly the luckiest! Scroll on down to see why he gives me all the feels.

14 Reasons I Love My Husband

1. He loves dogs just as much as I do

2. He does all the grocery shopping because he knows I hate it

3. He never gets on to me about my shopping addiction

4. He does all the cooking (meal planning, meal prep, etc) and it is always healthy + delicious

5. He takes almost all of my blog pictures and never complains

6. He always gives me the window seat on airplanes + he hasn't divorced me (yet) due to my travel anxiety problems and occasional airport meltdowns (oops....sorry)

7. He handles our household finances and gives me more play money than he gives himself

8. He values his health/fitness, never misses a workout and in turn encourages me to do the same (plus he is an incredibly fast long distance runner...like, so fast)

9. He doesn't put up with me feeling sorry for myself

10. He can make me laugh harder than anyone else ... and half the time its over absolutely nothing

11. He was an amazing nurse after I had shoulder surgery

12. He puts my style choices above his own because he knows it makes me happy. I get to pick out his clothes and decorate our house the way I want.....within reason, of course! He does have veto power

13. We are the right balance of the same/different - his strengths are my weaknesses and vice versa, yet we enjoy the same things, travel the same way, have the same beliefs and the same taste in many areas of life (food, dogs, houses...the important stuff ;). I think this is a huge reason we have a successful relationship and I'm so thankful for it

14. He loves me unconditionally, even when I'm a needy pain in the butt (which is often) or un-showered and makeup-less

As you have probably gathered by now, I'm totally spoiled and undeserving.... like, what do I even do around here other than cleaning and laundry? I'm so glad Cole stumbled into my life nearly seven years ago and decided he wanted to stick around. He truly makes me a better version of myself, has made my life 100 times better just by being in it, and has helped make all my dreams come true.

Remind your Valentine why you love them...not just today, but every day. If you don't have one, I hope you are encouraged to hold out for a good one. It's a blessing to be married to someone who loves you wholly and makes your heart skip a beat! I always love the quote,

"Marry someone who gives you the same feeling you get when you see your food coming at a restaurant."

Excitement, hunger, anticipation, happiness.....all good things!! Happy Valentine's Day!
