Friday Favorites

Friday FriyYAY! We made it to the weekend! This has been one of those weeks where I have been sleeping like a rock and baaaaarely able to open my eyes and crawl out of bed each morning. I cannot wait to sleep in tomorrow (until 7:45, that is 👵🏼) and wake up slow while sipping coffee on the couch. My fav!

I have done "Friday Favorites" posts a few times before - I like to be able to talk about what's going on in my actual life from time to time for any friends or family members who read my blog. I also think it gives new readers a glimpse into who I am outside of blogging! I love it when other bloggers do this - it makes me feel like they're my real life friends haha. What do you think? Do you like this kind of post or would you rather see food, fashion, fitness or travel? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Without further ado, here's my Friday Favs: August Edition!

Day Designer Planner | JORD Watch | Kate Spade Phone Case
I'm obsessed with everything in this photo! This is my fifth Day Designer - I would literally be LOST without it in my life. I use it to plan everything at work, at home and for the blog. My co-workers make fun of me for being old school and not using a calendar app, but I don't care!

I'm also still loving this JORD watch. I steal it from C regularly to wear myself, even though it is a men's watch. Whatevs. You can enter to win $100 credit towards your own wood watch at the bottom of THIS blog post.

If you've been following along on my Insta-Stories, you know I've been switching up my workout routine with StudioHop! This company offers monthly memberships that allow you to "hop" around to different gyms and fitness studios for one monthly fee. I'll be doing a whole blog post on it soon, but you can sign up now and save $20 with code AMANDAHOP20 !

"You'll look a lot less crazy if you can get your friend to do it with you." - my motto when trying out new workout classes, haha! Thanks for StudioHopping with me, Ash.

Choker Top | Similar Leopard Flats
Remember when I told you about Jenna from Pretty Little Liars showing up in my 'hood? Well.....that wasn't the whole story! They actually knocked on my front door and asked if they could film a few scenes for a movie AT MY HOUSE. They ended up choosing my neighbor's house instead, but C and I were still invited on set to meet all the actors and watch them film. It was so fun! We met Tammin Sursok from Pretty Little Liars, Tom Felton from Harry Potter, David Koechner from Anchorman and Wendy McClendon-Covey from Reno 911 and Bridesmaids. The name of the movie is Whaling; I can't wait to see it!

This part of "Friday Favorites" isn't actually a favorite.....it's more like a least favorite of all time, ever. We found out that Kylo has elbow dysplasia in both legs and an ununited anconeal process. Elbow dysplasia is genetic disorder that will require surgery. Post-surgery, Kylo should live a healthy and happy life, but without it, he would suffer from major joint pain, limping and severe arthritis. The surgeon described the dysplasia as walking around with a pebble in your shoe - but it's inside his elbow, instead. Poor bud.

In addition to that, the ununited anneal process is like a floating piece of bone in his elbow joint that is supposed to be attached, but never actually was. It makes the surgery a little more complicated as it would probably require screwing the extra bone into place. We are still waiting on the results of his CT scan to see what our next steps will be and our surgeon is having to consult with colleagues on the best way to approach the ununited anneal process.

Needless to say, our hearts are breaking over the pain Kylo is in. He is the sweetest and happiest dog on the face of the planet and it makes us so sad to see him hurting! We are crossing our fingers and saying our prayers that surgery will be successful and allow Kylo to give slobbery kisses for years to come. Our family would be incomplete without him!

Sorry to end on such a sad note! Let's bring some sunshine back and talk about weekend plans, shall we?! C & I bought some Cunningham Peaches last week and are going to make homemade peach ice cream tomorrow! One last shebang before summer comes to a close. Hopefully the weather will be nice so we can grill out and enjoy our back patio under the bistro lights. I'll probably be ten pounds heavier in next week's blog pictures because ya girl can't stop when cookies and ice-cream are involved. Oh well! Balance is beautiful. What's on your agenda?

Wishing you an amazing weekend!
