Thanks to ya'll's help on IG,, I convinced C to take me to brunch last Sunday! I'd really been wanting to try Aurora, one of the new kids on the block, and it seemed like the perfect opportunity.

Side note: Every time I say 'Aurora,' a Sleeping Beauty songs gets stuck in the my head....

Hail to the King
Hail to the Queen
Hail to the Princess Auroraaaa

Needless to say, Aurora easily made it's way onto our list of tastiest brunch places in OKC. One thing that really stuck out to me was that all of their food is locally sourced. I'm a huge aggregate of shopping local (except when it comes to Nordstrom or Target haha) so I really appreciated reading the list of suppliers on the menu!

Aurora was decorated much like my own kitchen - brick walls, big windows, lots of white. It reminded me of quaint little cafes in New York that I love so much. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful and the service was surprisingly fast! My only complaint was that their waiting area was very crammed. They had a 'backyard' area at the back of the long, skinny restaurant which I would have loved to sit at, but it was just too dang hot outside. Next time!

The food, though.....oh, the food. I started off with a Lavender Rose Latte that was on special. Lavender is probably my favorite herb on the face of the planet and rose isn't too far behind.....so I knew it had to be good. But it was straight up great. Starbucks got nothin' on Aurora. I ordered the Open Faced Breakfast BLT with pesto aioli and it, too, was fantastic. I'm pretty sure it had a solid pound of bacon on top -- they did not short you on the protein! And it was good quality, thick-cut bacon which is few and far between. I was extra impressed by the cherry tomatoes on top - normally I pick tomatoes off but these were so sweet they almost tasted like fruit! C ordered the Pork N Biscuit - shout out to Aurora for their gravy, it was everything gravy should be and more!

Next time, (there will definitely be a next time) I want to try the Tiramisu Pancakes and Gin + Mother cocktail made with rosemary and kombucha! Nommmm.

Have you been to Aurora yet? If so, what do you recommend? If you haven't been, definitely head there tomorrow or Sunday for brunch - you won't regret it!

What do you have going on this weekend? I'm excited to go to brunch with some blogger babes at The Jone's Assembly tomorrow and spend Sunday with C and the pups catching up on sleep, chores and life. Crossing my fingers the weather is nice and we can enjoy some time outside!

Have a great weekend, ya'll! Thanks for reading.

Oh my goodness! How cute is this place?!? I'm going to have to try those banana pancakes I saw on the menu! Also, that Scrabble menu board is so fun!
