Que the song, "Where are you Christmas? Why can't I find you?"

I feel like that more and more with every passing year. It becomes harder and harder to enjoy the magic of Christmas and not get caught up with life, work and busy schedules. I spend more time checking off my to-do-list and trying to avoid Christmas calories than I do enjoying the season. With Christmas being ten days from tomorrow (seriously though, what the heck) it's time to get in the Christmas spirit, hit pause for a few seconds, and enjoy the most wonderful time of the year!

I came up with a 15 things that always put a little holiday pep in my step, help me feel festive and help me get in a Christmas mood. Even if I only feel that magic for a few minutes, it's better than not feeling it at all! I'm ready to bring out the holly jolly that has been hiding inside.

Totes feel like a Gossip Girl character here, lol.

1. Turn on Christmas Music or make your own holiday playlist. I've been listening to Kathleen Barnes' Spotify playlist on repeat!

2. Decorate Your House - you can see my Christmas decor home tour on my Insta-Story highlights.

3. Go Christmas Tree Shopping or visit a tree farm! They smell so good and make great photos.

4. Wear Christmas PJs - see my roundup here!

5. Watch Christmas Movies - which is your favorite? I'm partial to A Christmas Story.

6. Donate a Toy to those less fortunate.

7. Wear Red! Nails, lips, shoes, scarves, sweaters......all of it! THIS is my favorite red lippie. I wear Beso and Fiery all season long!

8. Make Christmas Cookies - Grandma's sugar cookies and gingerbreads (aka Big Joes) are classic!

9. Sip a Festive Beverage in a Christmas Mug. Maybe add some liquor haha. Hot Cocoa, Apple Cider, Egg Nog, Starby's Peppermint Mochas.... yes please, I want it all! I've always wanted to try Emily Ann Gemma's Hot Chocolate recipe!

10. Drive Around and Look at Lights! C and I do this every year on our annual Christmas date. I always look forward to it no matter how many times I've see the same house with the same lights.

11. See a Show - the Nutcracker, a Christmas Carol, or even a local school or church's Christmas program.

12. Go Ice Skating! I LOVE ice skating and it always fills me with Christmas cheer. We got to skate at the Wollman Rink in Central Park in NYC last week! It was MAGICAL.

13. Burn Christmas Candles - Bath & Body Work's "Fresh Balsam" is my FAVORITE. It smells just like real Christmas trees!

14. Wrap Gifts - I always feel so much less stressed once I get my wrapping done! It is a huge weight off my chest and decorating the packages makes me feel very merry.

15. Remember the Reason for the Season!

Amanda Martin of Amanda's OK Blog gets in the Christmas Spirit with 15 holiday activities

I've already checked off quite a few of these items, but I'm planning on knocking out the rest this weekend! I have several holiday parties to attend, lots of presents to wrap and I'm 100% going to sip hot cocoa in my Christmas PJs while watching a Christmas movie by the tree....with the fireplace going. Ha! Bring. It. On. I'll be feeling like a Christmas Queen in no time flat!

What are you up to this weekend? Whatever it is, I hope you are filled with Christmas cheer and are able to stop for a moment and enjoy the season.

Thanks for reading and Merry Christmas!

P.S. YES this is the elusive red skirt from my Instagram stories. I ordered THREE red skirts over Cyber Weekend (one order was cancelled, one didn't fit and was sold out by the time I got it so I couldn't exchange it, and the other is still sitting in an OKC USPS facility (LOST) three weeks later with a tracking number that isn't updating. Luckily I found this one at a local boutique and it got the job done! And Macy's refunded me for the lost skirt so all is good. What a mess that was haha. I had no idea it was that hard to get my hands on a red mini skirt!
