"Healthy" Starbucks Drinks

Dress c/o Tobi | Scarf | Similar Booties Here and Here | Engraved Bar Necklace | Arrow Ring | Sunglasses
According to @TheRealPSL's tweet, Starbucks should be releasing their Pumpkin Spice Latte any day now.....and all the basic white girls will rejoice!

But seriously....the release date seems to get bumped up a few days every year. Last year it was on September 6, the year before that it was September 8..... Being that today is August 30, I'm crossing my fingers the PSL arrives within the next week! But, with Pumpkin Spice Season comes a lot of potential calories.

Constantly Varied with StudioHop

StudioHop OKC

Rise and shine - good morning, lovelies! Can you feel my excitement? Because I'm super pumped for today's post! I was given the opportunity to collaborate with StudioHop for the last two weeks - if you follow me on Instagram you probably already know this (because it was too good not to share). I had the best time and I've been DYING to tell you all about it ever since day one! Bare with me, it's a long one.

First, let me give you a little background into my fitness routine so you know where I'm coming from.

Brunchin' In My Sunday Best

Lace Peplum Tank c/o Tobi | Skinny Jeans - my favorites EVER, on sale for $35, size down | Similar Wedge Booties | Similar Earrings | Lip Stain in the color "Patina"
Sunday brunch is the perfect excuse to get dressed up! Something about it just feels special and I love  every bit of it. Whether we brunch at a diner or a clubhouse, I always like to feel my best - maybe its the champagne? Whatever it is, I'll take it! Double points if my outfit is figure flattering while covering up any potential food babies. This lace peplum tank from Tobi gets five stars all around - no one will know if you ate one pancake, or a whole stack!

Speaking of pancakes...... Cafe Kacao is known by many as the best brunch in Oklahoma City - the long line down the side of the building every weekend shows just how well loved it is! Don't let the "old Wendy's" style building fool you, it's interior is filled with twinkly bistro lights and happy customers.

Gym Hair Don't Care

Tank Top | Victoria's Secret Sport Leggings | Lululemon Sports Bra | Nike Shoes | Favorite Dry Shampoo
I never really believed that it was healthier for your hair to go a few days between washes, but then I tried it. Now I'm hooked! Seriously though, after a year of not washing my hair every day, I can promise you that it is SO much healthier over-all. I can go months longer between hair cuts, my hair is way shinier and bouncier and it's growing faster and longer than ever before. Plus it saves me a ton of time getting ready, and that's a huge W in my book.

Incase you didn't know, washing your hair every day actually strips your hair of natural oils which leads to dry hair and more breakage. It also fades color faster, dulls shine, and dries out your scalp which can lead a dandruff. Plus, a dry scalp often produces MORE oil to make up for being so dry - it's a vicious cycle!

Work Week Chic

Top - currently BOGO 50% off | Joggers c/o Tobi - size up if you're a quadzilla like me! | Similar Shoes Here and Here | Similar Sunnies
Little known fact: I went to a private school and had to wear a polo shirt and pleated khaki skirt every.single.day of high-school. I became an expert in the field of following the dress code while still making a statement (that, and changing clothes in the car). I didn't realize it at the time, but those were skills I'd carry with me into my career!

These days, my dress code is significantly better and easier to follow, but I still have to be mindful of my work attire. When dressing for work, I always choose one part of my outfit as "the statement piece" and build everything else around it. Sometimes I work around a pair of pumps, sometimes its a scarf or blazer, and other times its pants or a fun skirt. Today, it was these jogger pants from Tobi. You may recognize my top from this blog post when I dressed it down for a casual Saturday vibe with cut offs, but I think it works equally as well for a "work week chic" look!

Friday Favorites

Friday FriyYAY! We made it to the weekend! This has been one of those weeks where I have been sleeping like a rock and baaaaarely able to open my eyes and crawl out of bed each morning. I cannot wait to sleep in tomorrow (until 7:45, that is 👵🏼) and wake up slow while sipping coffee on the couch. My fav!

I have done "Friday Favorites" posts a few times before - I like to be able to talk about what's going on in my actual life from time to time for any friends or family members who read my blog. I also think it gives new readers a glimpse into who I am outside of blogging! I love it when other bloggers do this - it makes me feel like they're my real life friends haha. What do you think? Do you like this kind of post or would you rather see food, fashion, fitness or travel? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Without further ado, here's my Friday Favs: August Edition!

ATX is another place I could return to time and time again - C and I have been three times together in the last few years and have always had a blast! So much so that we are heading back again in November for a couple's weekend with friends. You can read about our last trip here and here. Let me just tell ya.....there is a reason Austin is the food capital of the Lone Star State....I hope you're hungry!

A.OK Braid Tutorial

Tank | Sports BraShorts | Similar Kimono | Similar Faux Fur Blanket | Gold Picture Frames
Good morning and Happy Friday, ahhh!!! I've gotten a lot of comments on my braids recently so I thought I'd share a little tutorial on fishtail braids and inside-out french braids. It is seriously so easy once you figure out what to do. It takes me no time at all and is perfect for days when I don't wash my hair. It can completely change your look, giving it just the right amount of quirkiness, coziness, or class, depending on how you style it!

Eat. Lift. Rescue.

Top (runs big) | Sports Bra | Shorts | Shoes, old, new version here
There are no words to describe just how much I love dogs. I've been trying to type it out and explain it, but I can't express it enough. Dogs are just my "thing," they are what makes my heart whole and  my mind happy. And I'm a-ok with being a crazy dog lady.

The Solution for My Not-So-Green Thumb

Top (sold out, similar here) | Jeans, old by Joe Fresh, similar here | Pumps | Bracelet | Lips (color is Patina) | Mini Cedar Trees
I like to think that I am pretty dang good at interior decorating.... I designed an entire home renovation single handedly, after all. But when it comes to landscaping, I am at a loss. I knew I wanted some sort of something on either side of my front door, but I didn't know what.

Ever since we moved in to the White House on the Prairie, I've tried to put live plants on the front porch. I don't exactly have a green thumb.....so it has been a bit of a struggle, to say the least. The rosemary plants froze, the flowers died (probably from lack of water, oops!), the ferns got too much sun, and the little evergreen trees I bought on clearance needed about 15 feet more space to grow. I had just about given up when I got these mini cedar trees from Plantscape Inc.

A.OK Book Review

Tank | Sports Bra, Similar Here | Similar Shorts (40% off) | Knit Throw (sold out, from Pottery Barn, similar here) | Coffee Mug (old, from Target, similar here) | Happy Home Pillow | Glasses are RayBans | Lips, shade is 'Rose'
I love it when people ask for book recommendations on Facebook or when my favorite bloggers do book reviews! I always look up the books on Amazon or download the sample in iBooks, read a few pages, and add the ones I like to my reading list. I put "read more for fun" on my 30 Before 30 list and have been thoroughly enjoying it. I planned on reading a book a month in 2017, but I'm already a few ahead of schedule!

#UnderMatters with Bootay Bag

Top (only $15 as part of the #NSale, fits TTS) | Shorts (very old) similar here | Cardigan (coming in and out of stock - part of the #NSale) | Panties c/o BootayBag
There's nothing quite like getting a package in the mail. Am I right or am I right? The mail fairy blesses me quite often thanks to my online shopping addiction, but its the surprise packages that are the most fun - those you forgot you ordered or the monthly subscriptions that arrive unannounced.
