Work Week Chic

Little known fact: I went to a private school and had to wear a polo shirt and pleated khaki skirt every.single.day of high-school. I became an expert in the field of following the dress code while still making a statement (that, and changing clothes in the car). I didn't realize it at the time, but those were skills I'd carry with me into my career!

These days, my dress code is significantly better and easier to follow, but I still have to be mindful of my work attire. When dressing for work, I always choose one part of my outfit as "the statement piece" and build everything else around it. Sometimes I work around a pair of pumps, sometimes its a scarf or blazer, and other times its pants or a fun skirt. Today, it was these jogger pants from Tobi. You may recognize my top from this blog post when I dressed it down for a casual Saturday vibe with cut offs, but I think it works equally as well for a "work week chic" look!

What is your work dress code like? I wore dresses 95% of the summer because they are so easy and breezy, but with fall just around the corner, I've been breaking out the pants and am having so much fun creating new looks and mixing and matching all the items in my closet. I think it's so important to mix fun statement pieces with simplicity. It helps you stand out while still looking professional and feminine.

Did you have a good weekend? As always, I'm entering my Monday just as tired as I was on Friday. I never seem to have enough time on the weekends to catch up on chores, social life AND sleep. Does anyone else feel that way? Luckily my next vacation is only 12 days away.....hallelujah! Can't wait to share more details with you, it's gonna be a good one.

Thanks for reading, ya'll! Have a wonderful week!
