The N-Sale Lowdown

V-Neck Top | Necklace | Similar Shorts | Designer Dupe Sandals

Confession: I'm getting really tired of my closet and bored with all the summer trends on the market right now. I just can't find anything that I like enough to buy! I have plenty of off-the-shoulder tops, way too many pom-poms and my fair share of sandals...... I'm over it.

Thank goodness the N-Sale starts next week so I can start shopping again! And for FALL!! My favorite season! My favorite clothes! I'm so basic...sue me.

For those that don't know, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale comes once a year and is their biggest and best sale EVER. It's basically like Christmas for the fashionistas of the world (and the sale totally tops Black Friday). Nordstrom releases a ton of new fall and winter stuff (think: scarves, booties, cardis, leggings, fleece) and they mark it waaaaay down. Normally sales are to get older items off the shelves, but the N-Sale releases brand new items by big brands at a majorly discounted price!

The N-Sale starts on July 13 for Nordstrom Card Holders ONLY. This really sucks for non-card holders because a lot of the good items get snatched up quick. Nordstrom supposedly re-stocks everything before it opens to the public on July 21, but if you want to make sure you have first dibs, you can sign up for a card on their website. You can even get a $20 note if you sign up and make a purchase before July 9.

Talk about a marketing strategy.

I hope your husband is more lenient than mine, he won't allow me to get another credit card, therefore forcing me to wait until July 21 to get my shop on. Womp womp. The sale lasts through August 6, though, and a lot of items do get restocked because people make returns.

Last year was my first time to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale....I literally set my alarm for the middle of the night so I could shop it the second it opened. Even then, some of the items were sold out in my size/color choice before I could even check out! It was INSANE. I spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars and felt broke for months after, but it was totally and completely worth it haha. I got my entire fall wardrobe in one shopping trip and wore all of my purchases on repeat! Some of them (like this v-neck) are still in my regular rotation.

We don't have a Nordstrom in Oklahoma, so I have to shop the sale 100% online. But that's fine because I consider myself to be a professional online shopper at this point. I have been known to get some sale anxiety - I mean, only so many pairs of shoes and leggings can be stollen out of my cart before I lose it! But I've learned from my mistakes and am here to give you my best tips and trips for shopping the N-Sale (especially if you're a non-card holder like your's truly). Be prepared to see a LOT about it these next few weeks - from me and every other blogger you follow!

  • Browse the N-Sale catalog to get an idea of what will be included
  • If you're not a cardholder, browse your favorite blogger's picks and add them to your Nordstrom wish list.
  • Make a priority list and plan out your purchases. Set a price limit. Know what items are #1 MUSTS and have backups in place. DO THIS AHEAD OF TIME. I'm not kidding when I say there will be no time to waste when the sale opens to the public. Shit gets cray.
  • Double and triple check your internet connection and make sure your laptop is fully charged.
  • Make sure your credit card info is saved in your Nordstrom account so you don't waste time entering it in the dark.
  • When the clock strikes 12 on July 21, head to your Nordstrom wish list and start clicking 'add to cart' like a mad woman.
  • If you're iffy on a size, buy both! If you're not sure on an item, buy it anyway. Things sell out FAST and nothing haunts you more than the things you didn't buy. Plus, Nordstrom has free shipping and free returns.....they got yo back, girl.
  • If something you want is sold out, keep checking back repeatedly because a lot of stuff gets restocked (or people return sizes) before the sale comes to a close.

I'll be sharing my N-Sale wish list soon, so keep an eye out! In the mean time, start saving your pennies because you're gonna need 'em.

Thanks for reading, ya'll!
