My Favorite Drug Store Products

Most of the time, I'm a firm believer that the more expensive the product, the better the quality. This is most certainly true for shampoo, bacon, shoes and handbags, but I've found that when it comes to certain beauty products, sometimes I actually prefer the drugstore version - go figure! So, I thought I'd share some of the items I've grown to love with you guys.

My Favorite Drugstore Products

I've literally been using this since high school. I've tried countless high end brands but have never found a hairspray I love as much as this one! They either don't hold my thick hair or they make it way too crunchy. This hairspray is the perfect balance - with the perfect price tag!

I used MAC setting spray on and off for a few years but never really felt that it made a difference in my makeup. NYX, though, does a really great job of sealing my makeup and helping it last all day! I've used both the matte and the dewy finish and love them equally, depending on the look you want. However, be sure to spray before you put on eye liner or mascara - it can make it run!

I love anything rose, so when I saw this in an Ulta email, I had to give it a try! It is so refreshing to spritz on your face day or night. I especially love it after a day at the pool when my face is flushed or before bed to help me relax. I liked it so much I started using other Mario Badescu products, like their eye cream

I'd seen several beauty bloggers rave about L'oréal's Lash Primer - obviously everyone is all about the lashes these days, so I figured it was worth a shot! I don't want to pay for eyelash extensions, so this seemed like a good alternative. It doesn't make my lashes CRAZY long, but it definitely helps them out! Sometimes I want to just wear the white primer - it makes me feel like an ice queen, lol!

Normally I use THIS mascara (and I swear by it!) but in the summer I like to have a waterproof mascara on hand for super sweaty crossfit workouts or pool days. When I purchased the L'oréal Lash Primer, I decided to give this guy a try and I'm so glad I did! The cashier told me it was her all-time favorite mascara - I can see why! It's not clumpy, goes on smooth and makes your lashes look va-va-voom.

Another product I've been using for year and years. I love every color and every type of Baby Lips. I've gone through so many of these! They have the perfect amount of color + moisturizer to where you don't look overly glossy but you still feel smooth. Often times I use THIS lip tint and put Baby Lips over the top. It's the perfect natural pouty lip.

This is another item I'd seen multiple beauty bloggers mention. I used MAC foundation for years and years but during a bad acne spell, it started to wear off throughout the day and not provide enough coverage. Plus I was going through it like crazy! I sampled a TON of foundations trying to find one that gave me the lasting coverage I wanted... I wasted a lot of money doing so haha. I figured another $13 wouldn't hurt, so I gave Pro-Glow a try and I was instantly sold! It goes on super smooth and is easily buildable. It says its 24 hour wear - I can't attest to that because I wash my face every night before bed, BUT it certainly lasts me through the work day and into the evening! If I don't sweat or rub my face a lot at the gym, it will even last through a workout. I especially appreciate it on days I know I'll be showering mid-day and reapplying makeup for an evening event because I don't feel like I'm wasting expensive makeup. I still use nicer brands for photoshoots, special events, etc., but for day-to-day wear, Pro-Glow is my go-to.

BTdub, I know I mentioned wearing makeup to the gym several times. I want to clarify that I do not put on makeup just to go to the gym! I workout right after work on weekdays, so any makeup I wear to the gym is just what is leftover from the day.

Do you have any holy grail drugstore products that you swear by? If so, I'd love to hear! I'm not a makeup expert by ANY means, but I still love to play, sample new products and find ones that work. I never used any L'oréal products until this year but I have been so impressed with their stuff that I want to try more! Let me know your favorite drugstore items in the comments below.
