Friday Favorites

Orange Fountain at Oklahoma State Homecoming

We made it - happy Friday! It is an especially happy [orange] Friday around here because it is Oklahoma State's Homecoming Weekend, otherwise known as America's Greatest Homecoming Celebration. This year's theme is "Herald Your Fame" - I can't wait to see it brought to life!

Each year, sororities and fraternities team up to create house decs, aka giant floats attached to their houses, to match the homecoming theme. The students spend hours on hours on hours pomping (sticking tissue paper into chicken wire) to create incredible, larger than life designs. Man, I do not miss those days one bit, ha! Nearly 100,000 alumni, family and students participate in "Walk Around" the Friday evening before Homecoming to see all the decorated houses. It is such a fun Stillwater tradition to experience.

There are a bajillion more traditions (like the orange fountain pictured above that makes me want to drink a Sunkist) and they all hold a special place in my heart. Forever loyal and true!

Marble Beaded Bracelet and Starbucks Cup

I mean, how cute is this marble bracelet c/o Live Lost Shop? I've been on a major marble kick and have been wearing it non-stop. The owner of Live Lost Shop, Jenna, is a Dallas gal turned Okie just like your's truly! The shop was inspired by adventure and creativity - two of my all-time favorite things in life - and all the pieces are handmade. Definitely go check them out and give Jenna a follow on Instagram

Side note, I know you're wondering what is in my Starbucks cup! I figured out the trick to a "healthy" PSL! Order a Cafe Misto made with Almond Milk + 1 pump of Pumpkin and 1 pump of Sugar Free Cinnamon Dolce. Wall-ah! You can add stevia or another low-cal sweetener if you wish, but I didn't. A Cafe Misto is basically like a latte made with drip coffee instead of espresso, so it is more coffee and less milk (meaning fewer calories) but it is still frothed and tastes similar to a latte.

OKC Blogger Girls at Evereve Grand Opening
Me | Ashley from Sass and Satin | Margaret from Red Dirt and Glitter |
Allyson from Allyson in Wonderland | Courtney from Life of a Med School Wife
I was so honored to be invited to the Evereve Grand Opening in OKC's Classen Curve! It was a blast hanging out with other local bloggers and checking out the new store. They seriously have the cutest stuff! Their motto is "dress like a mom" because they want to encourage moms to stay stylish and feel good about themselves, however, their clothes are for anyone! They carry great brands like Paige Denim, Free People, Steve Madden and more. The staff was so welcoming; they will even style you from head to toe in a new look. Be sure to swing by and check out their space, I can't recommend them enough!

Dough Bar Doughnuts and Coffee Cup

I typically try to limit my doughnut intake because doughnuts are my kryptonite..... but then I got a box from The Dough Bar and things changed! These doughnuts were created with the athlete in mind and are a nutritious alternative to a "cheat treat." They are protein packed, lower in carbs/fat and baked (not fried) so you can enjoy them guilt-free. Gimme!

London street corner covered in flowers

Couple in front of Buckingham Palace Gate

Notting Hill Street Corner

Of course, I had to throw a few European pics in the mix. All three of the above were taken in London - I still can't get over how adorably charming that city is! Believe it or not, the turquoise triangle brick thing is a public bathroom. Seriously.... Even the "toilets" are picturesque! It is true what they say about places you visit becoming a part of you. I have already been trying to plan a trip back, can you blame me?? If anyone is hiring in London......ha! Kidding. Kind of.

Eating brunch on the patio at Hutch

Coffee cup on the patio at Hutch in Nichols Hills

Last but not least, C and I celebrated our three year engageiversary on October 3! I can't believe it has already been three years since that exiting day (I shared how he proposed here). We celebrated by going to The Hutch on Avondale for brunch - it used to be The Coach House, which is where the proposal took place, so it seemed fitting and felt extra special! The service wasn't the best, but the food was top notch, five stars, d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s.

What do you have on your agenda this weekend? I'd love to hear! We will of course be heading to Stillwater for all the homecoming festivities - Go Pokes!!
