'Tis the season to be thankful! I'm reminded every year around this time how thankful I am for my husband because we went on our first official date seven years ago on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving! I was driving home to Dallas from college and stopped in OKC to see him! We got sushi which I don't recommend for a first date - you can't very well eat sushi and look cute hahaha. Anyways, I will always remember meeting my best friend for dinner in Dallas a few days later and gushing all about it.....I told her I wasn't going to let myself fall for him which obviously didn't last! We became "Facebook official" on News Years Day and ever since this time of year is full of reflection for us.

I love to look back on the memories we made.....we were such babies! In the years since, we've gone through a lot together.....good and bad and great and so-so. Through it all, I've become so thankful for a strong relationship that can't be easily shaken and a husband who encourages me to chase my dreams and helps me every step along the way. And also a man who cooks all of our meals - PRAISE HANDS. He puts up with my emotions and I put up with his clutter. We love each other unconditionally and I couldn't imagine life without him. Cheesy, but true. He was recently in Tokyo for a week and let me tell you, absence really does make the heart grow fonder - our house was so empty without him there! I'm feeling thankful that 1) he is home and 2) he is mine!

Sorry if you're reading this, C. He hates mushy lovey dovey stuff haha.

In addition to my hottie husband, there are so many other things to be thankful for! This year has really opened my eyes to a lot of things, good and bad, and I think I've learned to appreciate the blessings in my life so much more than I used to. In no particular order:

  • I'm SO incredibly blessed for the friends I've made through blogging, both local and far away. I'm not good at making friends so I truly value those who I have "clicked" with!
  • I'm thankful for my health. I had a few too many surgeries in the last year but I'm proud of myself for powering through, staying as fit as possible in the meantime and making a comeback instead of making excuses.
  • I'm thankful for family! My parents live within driving distance again (they moved to Kentucky for a few years) and it is so great to see them regularly. It is equally as great to have Cole's family within an hour's drive.
  • I'm so proud and thankful for my car! It might sound silly, but after driving the same truck for 13 years, my new 4-Runner is a dream come true. She is so pretty and I love her so.
  • I'm glad I have a job I like and co-workers I enjoy. That hasn't always been the case and I can say from experience that having a job that you don't dread going to is such a game changer for overall happiness in life.
  • Of course, I'm thankful for my sweet pups. Even though they drive me nuts, shed like crazy and ruin my rugs, they bring so much joy and happiness into my life.
  • I'm thankful for clear skin. A few years ago I had the worst acne imaginable so I truly appreciate the confidence my clear skin has given me.
  • I'm thankful for being able to travel so much this year. It has been a whirlwind and I will forever cherish those experiences.
  • I'm thankful for seasonal Oreos, good coffee, Kraft Mac & Cheese and chocolate cake. It's the little things.
  • I'm thankful for a roof over my head (and a pretty one, at that) and the most perfect little family to share it with.
  • I'm thankful for this blog and the opportunities it has brought my way. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I'd reach 13.5k followers but I'm thankful for each and every single one of you. And I'm thankful for the brands who are willing to take a chance on me.

I could go on and on. As I write this out, I feel SO LUCKY. I truly live such a blessed life and I'm feeling so very thankful for it. I encourage you to make a list, as well - and I mean sit down and write a whole list, think of more than that one thing to share at the dinner table!

As a way to say THANK YOU for following along on my little corner of the internet, I'm teaming up with me, myself and I to host a giveaway on my Instagram today -  a $25 gift card to Starbucks is up for grabs so be sure to enter before the holiday weekend is over!
